------August update about this product: The EER rating of 9.8 understates this products efficiency. I live in NC and it's BEEN HOT since June, with no sign of letting up. Today, 08/11/11 was the first day in over sixty, that the high temperature was under 90. It was 87. (cloudy and rainy) ;) For the most part, it's been mid to upper 90's since June. Anyways, When I got my power bill in July for the month of June, it was just $54. I was like ok, it will take a month for the power usage to show up. I just recievied my August bill for the month of July and it was only $57. Honestly!!!!!!!!!! And let me tell you, this unit has worked it's butt off.. ;) I used to not give an EER number a second look, but now that is all I look for when buying anything electric. Even at 110 volts, it puts out as much cool air as my old 220 outside unit. If I was still using it, (0utside unit) my power bills would be well over $120.------After reading some of the reviews for this product, I was a bit skeptic. Not as much for the product but for how it was shipped. Some reported shipper damage. Mine came undamaged and in very good condition.Setup was easy, and thanks to the low weight, it was just a one person job. Took only 30 minutes, and I actually read the instructions. ;) Could have easily been a 15 minute job if I were in a hurry.Works like a charm and does everything I expected/wanted it to do. (to knock down the high heat of summer and save money by not using my more expensive central air unit) Some may ask how can a 110 unit save over a 220, but believe me, it does/will. My Central air likes to run almost constantly in the summer, no matter what temperature I set it at, and this drives up an electric bill drastically. Now, I open windows during the night, and use the window unit to knock down the heat during the day. It doesn't run that much, and cools really fast. I'm saving electricity and getting fresh air at night. Two positives over a closed-in home that keeps circulating the same air over and over again.

Package arrived early and in perfect condition via UPS, it slid right in, fired right up and cooled right down.I bought an identical one 2 years ago, but only 3500 btu's, and its been running like a champ ever since, just needed a bigger one.....I am very satisifed.

I got 2 of these from Amazon.Set up was pretty easy. Cools off my room in about 3 minutes. Have to keep the temp on 71 otherwise I freeze. My only complaint is the lowest fan speed still seems to be too powerful. And I tried to sleep with the power save option but every time the system started again it woke me up.
