I wish I could rate this air conditioner as a zero. We have a Haier A/C 1200 BTU unit and we have it tilted back more than other A/C unit we've ever had. We can't set the temp as low as it goes because the front will ice up. I am constantly washing the back of the unit out with the hose because as time goes on the water starts to drain from the middle of the unit instead of the back. It also sucks mosquitoes into the house and if I remove the filter with it turned off I have swarms of mosquitoes everywhere. I am constantly cleaning the mosquitoes out of the front with a toothbrush. Never buy an A/C unit from this company because it's junk! You will find lots of these same complaints on other websites especially about water leaking into the house, it spitting water or the freezing up. You should not have to practically hang it upside down to get the water to drain out. I will never buy anything from this company again.

Good:Very easy to install. Working fine. Cooling fine as well.Bad:Requires regular cleaning of the filter. Little bit noisy. Power saving mode seems not to be very helpful. Once it reaches the desired temperature, it stops which is as expected. But, later on, it does not start automatically once the temperature goes high again.

I only had to buy a new unit because I smashed the cooling coils on my 10,000 BTU Haier. It was about 8 years old and worked perfectly until the accident. This new one seems to work as good. Many of the lower reviews are obviously based on bad information.1) The correct angle to mount this unit is what is given in the directions. Whatever angle you mounted a different brand has nothing to do with this unit. It's a stupid comment. There is a buildup or water in the lower back on humid days. I drilled a couple of holes there to make it drain better. (WARNING) be very careful to not hit the coils if you try this.2) Follow the installation instructions provided and you should have no problems.3) This unit runs very quite, the only sound is the air moving through the fan.4) If ice builds up in the front it is because you are forcing it to do too much. Set is for 72/74 degrees until the room cools and drop it down a little then. If you set it to low it will ice up. It's not meant to be a freezer, it's an air-conditioner.5) If you have horizontal sliding windows you don't need the extenders. You just cut a 1"x2" stick about 2" longer than the window opening when it is closed against the unit. Since the weight load is very small (maybe 10 lb) you don't need any other support. Just a couple of screws into the stick at top and a couple of screws at the bottom. The unit just floats there. There is no heavy mounting needed.It's very easy to install if you just use your head.This unit is very powerful and works beautifully if you install it properly.
